No more Halloween parties for kids nowadays because of the continuing threat of Covid-19 in our midst. We cannot risk bringing the kids to the mall and be part of a crowd when we know the risks. But we love photoshoots and pretend play with costumes so the pandemic didn’t stop us from dressing up and having a quick session. Here are our Halloween costumes for girls — nothing cutesy anymore because my, they have grown!

Going Out for a Quick Trip

Our family had a quick, overnight trip to the municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto here in Negros Occidental in order to attend a friend’s wedding. It was quite a road trip, with stops along the way to appreciate nature.

The resort where we stayed is called Manggapuri Villas — a beautiful mountain retreat without television nor internet connection. That was some digital detox for us– two whole days without internet connection. We even got to sleep early — too tired from walking around the hilly place. And since we slept early, we were able to wake up early the following day.

So on our second day, we had a quick photoshoot around the resort. No more make-up–just costumes and the entire photoshoot took about 15 minutes only.

Halloween Costumes for Girls

Shane was Queen of Hearts, a rehash of the costume that Achi Shawna wore two years ago at Stonehill Suites Halloween Party. She wore that with a red wig and I drew thick brows and heart-shaped lips on her. That won her the Best in Costume award.

Meanwhile, I got the Go-Go dancer costume for Achi during the Toys R Us toy fair a few days ago. It was on 70% off. This was already an adult-sized costume but it fits her perfectly–after all, she is already taller than me. She also thinks that it is no longer just a costume but already a casual dress that she can wear anytime–a really nice OOTD!

Achi paired the dress with the brown high-heel Nine West leather boots that she wore for the Jollibee Halloween Party where she dressed up as a cowgirl. It was perfect!
