It was only last March that we were in Boracay and declared that I won’t come back within five years because of the tiring land trip. But here we are again and this time, check out my Belmont Hotel Boracay Review.
No Plans are the Best Plans: A Spontaneous Family Trip
For family travel, I am not one for spontaneity. With two young daughters, I would rather go after everything is planned, from tickets to accommodations, down to our outfits.
But recently, I had been exhausted with the many events that happened in our lives. Physically, mentally, and emotionally drained, I felt like a zombie mom–operating on auto-play mode. That’s not healthy for the family.
Last Saturday, hubby, the kids, and I were already in Iloilo City for an event. We had fun and were refreshed. We were due to come home the following day when I decided to proceed to Boracay. That was because we still had some vouchers left for our Megaworld Hotels Club Access Card. And our membership was expiring this month.
We had to use them or forfeit the benefits. That would be a waste. The closest point to us to use them would be Boracay. And so to the island we went.
And this spontaneous family trip didn’t disappoint. This was one of our most memorable, fun, and relaxing trips that I have ever had with my troop.
Belmont Hotel Boracay Review
We had an awesome second family stay in Boracay. That’s how I can describe it. Simply awesome. And that’s largely in part to our hotel accommodations. Here’s my Belmont Hotel Boracay Review.
Location
Belmont Hotel Boracay is part of the Boracay Newcoast development by Philippine property giant Megaworld Corporation. Located at Northeastern point of the island, it has its own exclusive beach.
The downside is, it’s about 45 minutes from the Cagban port. You can take the tricycle or e-trike to D’Mall then wait for the free shuttle.

The good thing is, you are away from the maddening crowd of the White Beach. You can completely enjoy exclusivity, tranquility, and solitude. With the party reputation of Boracay, you would be surprised that there is an area like this where you can simply unwind and enjoy the beach.
My soul was refreshed, my mind focused, and my heart satisfied after some contemplation and relaxation. What a contrast to my daily life where I constantly beat myself up with things to do for the family. I had a lot of mommy me-times around here. It was just what I needed to rebuild myself.
Lobby | Common Areas
Belmont Hotel Boracay is divided into three clusters. Cluster 2 is in the middle and is the first one to open. The other two are still under construction. Cluster 2 is where the reception area is.
The facade is unassuming but once you enter, you are welcomed by a spacious lobby with high ceilings. Looking up there are adornments of glass sculptures hanging from above. The sandy colored floor has some spot of vibrant color from carpets with seaweed design. It does feel like you are entering a giant aquarium–a bow to the island’s marine life.
Belmont Hotel Boracay has centralized air conditioning system, a respite from the heat outside. The lobby is fully air conditioned and guests are given cold welcome drinks make of natural ingredients. To the right is a staircase leading to the amenities like the gym, spa, and swimming pool on the second floor. Further down the hall is the Cafe Belmont for 24-hour dining.
Rooms
At first, we were billeted in the Deluxe Room with a queen-sized bed. It was a nice, 27 sq-meter homey room with a balcony. We requested for an extra bed to accommodate the four of us. However, we found the set up constricting. It was small for a family of four, even if the kids are still small. For couples, the deluxe room is already cozy enough.
With a really active Shane and a big dad, we were constantly bumping into each other. We also hardly had space for our luggage nor surfaces to place our stuff.
Using our Club Access voucher, we requested for a complimentary room upgrade. For the remaining two night, we stayed in the Premiere Room. At 33 square meters, this room is spacious.
Even with the extra bed, we had room to move around. Plus we had more closet space and a big bathroom! We totally adore this room.
Additionally, this room has a balcony facing the pool. So we could just watch the kids while they are swimming below. We had room 2528 and we really loved it! The room number means that we were on Cluster 2, fifth floor, room 28.
What’s more, you get nightly treats at Belmont Hotel Boracay. To the delight of our kids (and us, too) we get an assortment of chocolates and cookies. Housekeeping delivers it to our room just before dinner.
Rates
Belmont Hotel Boracay rates are subject to change without notice. But in the website, you get an idea how much the rooms cost on the average. Up to the Premiere Room, off-peak rates are all less than US$100!
Staff | Service
The Belmont Hotel Boracay seems to have mastered personalized service. Staff are warm and cordial and go the extra mile to help guests. Even if it’s not their turf, they help out so that your request.
Additionally, husband and I noticed that everyone engages the guests in small talk. It could be about the weather, the stay, the kids, the food, or anything in between.
But everyone, as in everyone, interacts with us. We find it rather personal and very hospitable. I’m not sure if others are fine with that, but for us, this is a rather nice touch from the hotel staff.
A Minor Scrape
Our very kulit second daughter Shane had a scrape on her heel. She was running at the pool and must have hit something. But she didn’t really cry–it was a very minor injury. Would you believe, the whole hotel seemed to have been alerted?
The pool attendant radioed their customer care services, though he didn’t really need to because he had everything he needed to treat the wound. For us, we believe that this was unnecessary because Shane often encounters booboos with her active nature. I also had bandages and treatment for wound with me in our travel kit.
But no. The hotel staff refused to let Shane go up the room without treatment. They said it’s hotel protocol. So we gladly obliged.
When we went downstairs for dinner, two of the guards and, from the concierge, as well as the front desk personnel asked if Shane is already okay. I assured them that she was and it was just a minor scrape.
The next morning, I got a call from guest relations asking about Shane’s condition.
What care! And you can also appreciate how they relay information about their guests’ needs. Kudos to the staff of Belmont Hotel Boracay.
Belmont Hotel Boracay really deserves a spot in my List of Family-Friendly Hotels We Have Stayed In
Food
Cafe Belmont is the 24-hour dining facility at Belmont Hotel Boracay. They have Asian Mediterranean fare, but I think they need more choices.
So far, among the items that we tried, we were totally satisfied. And with our Club Access Card, we got a 50% discount on our meals.
We were told that eventually, the hotel will add more food outlets to cater to the two new clusters.
Breakfast Buffet
I am sorry but I cannot tell you about it because we haven’t tried it during our 3-night stay. You see, we went there on weekdays and occupancy was not at its highest so the management has decided on single order plates. This is to minimize the food wastage from a buffet station when there are only a few guests.
We had choices of American and Filipino breakfast. Meanwhile, there was unlimited soup, salad, fruits, breads, and cereal for our breakfast. It was more than enough actually. And since it was plated, we got to take out some of our leftovers.

Wi-Fi
Internet speed at Belmont Hotel Boracay is super fast. We uploaded a 3-minute video on YouTube and it was complete in like 2 minutes! Back home, we have to wait overnight because of the slow upload speed.
In one day, hubby and I were to finish writing and posting six articles in our blogs and still had time to enjoy in the evening. What an awesome experience! My laptop was able to work its full capacity because of the high-speed internet connection. This is what work at home moms need! Haha
Swimming Fun
Since we have young kids, we didn’t take part in island activities. We think they are too young for that and we would just be wasting money if after paying, they will chicken out.
The only thing they did was have the traditional island braids. Paid PhP300 (roughly $6) for the two of them for a one-sided braided hairstyle. Did I mention kapos sa budget? hahaha
But our time was mostly spent on the water! Yep, we have water babies. Either the beach or the pool, they’ve got it covered. When it gets too hot at the beach, they continue playing in the pool where there’s shade.
The pool at Belmont Hotel Boracay is quite small and just enough for them. But if you want a more spacious pool, you can go to the party pool at Savoy Hotel Boracay. That is where the kids had their mermaid swim pictorial last summer. Check out their video below about being Mermaids in Boracay.

Hi Laura! If you are coming in from Manila, it’s much easier to go to Boracay. It’s one plane ride to the nearest airport and then a short pump boat or ferry ride to the island. The ferry ride takes only about 7 minutes. Will write about the ferry ride soon. 🙂 Hope you can come and visit the Philippines.

When travelling alone, I don’t really enjoy staying in one place. I must be on the move with my itinerary in hand. It’s different when I’m with my family, though. No plans are the best plans indeed. This post makes me want to book a trip to Boracay with my family and have a staycation.

I’ve always wished to LIVE in Boracay since I first stepped on the island in 1990 when we still used the paraws as transpo. Food and softdrinks had to “imported” from the main island. We stayed at a kubo for rent by my sister’s friend’s relatives and had the time of our lives. How easy it is now, really, with 5-star hotels around Boracay now. I guess the magic of this island is really in the air and in its waters becoz no matter where you stay here, you bring home these great and lasting memories of your island getaway ♥

Belmont Hotel Boracay feels you and you’re love ones’ extra comfort. The food looks delicious. It’s good to know that WiFi seems really fast that posting pictures right away without lag is not a problem. And, of course, the exclusive beach at Boracay newcoast. Who wouldn’t want that?
