Field Trip for Kids

As a homeschooling in Bacolod family, my husband and I take our daughter on a practical field trip for kids. It should be something practical and useful, such as going to an eye doctor for exposure.

Dindin’s first visit to an eye doctor. We went to see Dr. Rodel Young of RC Young Optical.

A Visit to the Eye Doctor

As part of her exposure and educational trips around our city, I brought Dindin along when I had my eyes checked. We went to the clinic of Bacolod optometrist Dr. Rodel Young of RC Young Optical Clinic. Doc Rodel is close to our family because he was the classmate of my husband in their elementary and high school years. My parents also know his parents. We go a long way.

Anyway, after my check up and it was learned that I may not need new eyeglasses, it was Dindin’s turn to sit on the doctor’s chair. Tito Doc was very calm and gentle that she felt at ease. He instructed Dindin about what he would do but she was quite kulit that we did not really get any good information during the check up. She’s only 3 years and 7 months old by now.

Future Check Up

If ever, Tito Doc said that we can come back after six months for a proper eye examination because my husband’s family has a history of eyesight problems. Dindin might have inherited it. At least after six months, we are hoping that she has matured and can sit still for the check up.

Dindin doesn’t sit still yet. Maybe after six months, she will be more settled and we can get a more accurate eye examination.

Dindin had a great time at Doc Rodel’s clinic not only because the good doctor was very patient with her but because his wife and youngest daughter were there, too. The kids played and Mrs. Young gave Dindin snacks.

It was a very nice experience for my daughter. It was her first time in an optometrist’s clinic and in the future if we may need a doctor to check her eye health, she is already familiar with the situation. it was a great way for us to introduce a new concept to her.

This was a successful field trip for kids.

Field Trip for Kids to the Doctor

Doctors are not to be feared by children. That is why that we have to carefully choose our physicians so that our kids will not be traumatized at an early age. We should also introduce them to our doctors and tell them that doctors should not be feared because they take care of our health.

You may notice that we keep on doing things intentionally in preparation for homeschooling Dindin. All these matter because we already know what path to take in terms of our child’s education.

Our next stop for our educational field trip for kids would be the dentist. 😀 We need to find a good Bacolod dentist for kids who can take care of the oral health of our family. I have been praying for this and so I hope that God will lead us to somebody we can trust for our kids.

  1. The dentist is always the hardest for kids I think. When I was young my dentist had huge hands it was never fun to go. I almost think it should be a prerequisite for dentist to have small hands.

  2. It looks like she’s having so much fun at the eye doctor’s clinic. I hope she enjoys her visit to the dentist, too.
