Cebu is one of the largest island provinces in the Philippines. There are so many things to do and places to visit. The best thing to do is to stay in a hotel that’s comfortable and safe for your family and also is near the purpose of your visit. Since we wanted to go to Cebu Ocean Park, we chose a really nice hotel near it. And this is our Summit Galleria Cebu Hotel Review of their Premier Room.
A Cancelled Flight
The main purpose of our family trip to Cebu in November is to attend the wedding of my husband’s cousin. Shane was one of the flower girls and so we had to attend. Never mind that Shane had cough and colds. We had already booked our flights with Cebu Pacific in February and her illnesses were manageable with Young Living essential oils, supplements, and some medication.
We intended to go home two days after the wedding. However, Cebu Pacific cancelled our return flight for reasons we didn’t know. Instead of fretting over the change in travel plans, the flight cancellation turned out a good thing for us. We got to stay an extra night in Cebu and had the time to visit Cebu Ocean Park. Most of all, we got to stay at Summit Galleria Cebu.
This is one very good thing about homeschooling. When there are schedule changes like this during family travel, we are not worried because we don’t have to answer to school authorities. Additionally, we can travel during off-peak season, when hotel rates and airline tickets are cheaper and tourist destinations are not crowded.
Since the parents are the homeschooling supervisors and the kids learn at their own pace, we can decide on our rules and schedules. What’s more, we can bring our lessons if we want to.
Before I get lost in my storytelling about homeschooling, here is our Summit Galleria Cebu Hotel review.
Summit Galleria Cebu Hotel Review
From where the taxi dropped us off, I thought at first that Summit Galleria Cebu Hotel is a small structure. It’s unassuming from the roadside but when we went in, we were greeted with elegant elements that I thought were modern impressionistic art.
As I was taking photos of the lobby, the bellhop told me that these were “pusô” or the hanging rice that’s very famous in Cebu. I took in the sight and reveled at how this simple street food was transformed into magnificent hotel décor.
As I was pondering, my senses were overwhelmed because the entire lobby exuded a sweet floral smell that’s the exact opposite of where you will find pusô around Cebu City. Eventually I found out that the entire hotel, including the hallways smelled this nice!
And don’t be fooled. There are a total of 220 rooms in this Cebu hotel! It’s actually huge and has lots of rooms for guests during big events in Cebu City.
This Cebu hotel is surely geared up to be the destination for business meetings and events.
Location
Summit Galleria Cebu is located at General Maxilom Ave Extension, Cebu City and has direct access to the Robinsons Galleria mall.
Additionally, the hotel is also very near Cebu Ocean Park that our taxi fare is only about PhP (roughly US$2). And since there is a mall in the area, taxis are always available throughout the day.
Common Area | Lobby
Like any business and lifestyle hotel, Summit Galleria Cebu Hotel has a very spacious and elegant lobby. It’s so clean, smells so nice, and has rather controlled lighting. There are many seats available for meeting a client or a friend.
Premier Room: A Family Room
There are four kinds of accommodations at Summit Galleria Cebu. These are:
- Deluxe Twin
- Deluxe King
- Premier Room
- Summit Suite
Since there were the four of us, we were billeted in the Premier Room. And what a delight it was. It was huge! We had one king sized bed and a separate quarters with a single bed. It also featured a living room and the set up is like a small home.
Summing it up, the Premier Room is like a small condominium unit! How awesome is that! It’s really perfect for a family of four.
And the air conditioning, oh my gosh! It’s more than enough! We loved how cold our room was! So if you leave the room, I would advice that you turn off the air conditioning for the sake of our environment.
Toilet and Bath | Toiletries
We like the fact that the shower and toilet have different doors so 2-3 people can use the area at the same time. It’s pretty spacious, too. This is very convenient if you are in a hurry or somebody has a call of nature while there’s another one taking a shower.
There were ample toiletries in the bathroom and I appreciate the fact that they were in big containers. Not very big, but not the average sizes for hotel toiletries. If guests want to bring them home after an overnight stay, they can still use the products at home.
They’re of good quality, too. These toiletries are Genevier.
Premier Room Amenities
The Premier Room comes in two styles. The first one is the Mango Family Room, which features neutral colors with fun pops of yellow mango. Meanwhile, the Sinulog Family Room has vibrant colors and patterns of the Sinulog Festival that Cebu is famous for.
We were billeted in the Sinulog Room. Here are the Premier room features and amenities:
- Area: 40 sq. m. in size
- With 1 king bed and 1 twin-sized bed
- Room capacity: 3 adults and 2 kids
- High-quality bed linens and duvet covers
- Ultra-soft, non-allergenic pillows
- Premium bath toiletries (Genevier from France)
- Hot and cold super shower
- Coffee and tea making facility
- Hair dryer
- Vanity mirror
- Mini-bar chiller
- 42-inch flat screen TV (with HDMI and USD ports and premium cable channels)
- Security keycard access to guestroom floors
- RFID proximity card and lock system
- In-room safe
- Wireless internet access
- Individually controlled air conditioning units
- Iron/Ironing board**
- PWD friendly room and bath**

Service | Staff
From when we got down from the cab, the helpful concierge weren’t slow about our needs. They were alert and helpful. The front office personnel were also very amiable, offering all the information we needed and checking us in pretty swiftly.
Room Rates
The Summit Galleria Cebu room rates are quite reasonable for the amenities that you get. Check out an example of their published rates from their website.

Hotel Amenities
Here are the amenities at Summit Galleria Cebu:
- All-day dining restaurant, cafe, and bar
- Meeting rooms
- Gokongwei Art Gallery
- Swimming pool
- Kiddie Pool
WiFi Connection
Summit Galleria Cebu Hotel has Sky Fiber for their internet connection. Needless to say, it is soooo fast. It is every online workers’ dream to have internet this fast.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool at Summit Galleria Cebu is indoor so the water is quite cold. The pool is big and there’s a separate area for kids. Our sick little Shane couldn’t resist it. Despite her fever, she went swimming after breakfast!
The indoor swimming pools, however, were quite cold because the sunlight couldn’t come in. But this didn’t keep the kids from enjoying the water as they had the pools all by themselves.
Summit Galleria Restaurant
Providore is the all-day dining restaurant, cafe, and bar at Summit Galleria Cebu. It is where we had our breakfast buffet plus we also had a meeting there with a friend from PR Works. They serve a great selection of dishes as well as coffees.
The restaurants has a two-way entrance — one from the hotel, which goes through to the Robinsons Galleria mall. So if you would rather go malling or dine somewhere in the mall, guests have easy access through Providore.
Breakfast Buffet
There was a pretty good selection of food for the breakfast buffet. Too bad though that I was not able to enjoy it much because Shane was sleeping on my lap. But I was able to request for my stir-fried Thai noodles that they graciously prepared for me.
And oh, though it’s not usually allowed, I am glad that they let Shane take out some of her breakfast. She had eggs, bread, and bacon, which she was able to eat at the airport while waiting for our Cebu Pacific flight to Manila. At that time, her appetite was very erratic so we are glad that we had food with us so that she could eat anytime she got hungry.
Conclusion
We totally enjoyed our stay at the premier room of Summit Galleria Cebu Hotel. It was just amazing, comfortable, and spacious.
Our eldest daughter Shawna enjoyed the fact that she got her own room with a reading light. Though it didn’t really have a door but it gave her a sense of privacy.
Meanwhile, hubby liked that we had a living room area where he could just stretch out after the end of a long day.
My only complaint would be the closets. The hooks to hang the clothes were too high for me to reach! haha We would definitely recommend Summit Galleria Hotel Cebu for a family stay!

Wow! Summit Galleria Cebu is such a nice hotel. Happy to know it’s near Cebu Ocean Park. We’re planning to visit and would definitely consider staying here.
Welcome to Cebu! Summit Galleria Hotel is a new hotel here in Cebu and so awesome coz you choose this hotel (this was built after the opening of Robinsons Galleria). Aside from the fact that malapit lang po sya sa Cebu Ocean Park, madami din malapit na “laaganan”. Robinsona Galleria is a new mall as well!
Uso jud and puso diri sa amoa mommy! PUSO + bbq = busog! ???
Wow! I hope this year the kids get to experience another hotel staycation. We had one last October courtesy of husband’s invigilator gig and the kids enjoyed it very much.❤️ Hope to visit Cebu Ocean Park as well as try the pungko pungko sa Fuente. I super miss eating pusô!?
Sometimes, something that goes wrong is actually a blessing, like that canceled flight. And I agree on the homeschooling, you cannot imagine the pressure and the stress trying to get back home just for the kids to be present on the first day of school after a holiday.
The suite at Summit Galleria is so luxurious, wow, even Dindin has her own space. I’m sure she was thrilled!
I haven’t been to Cebu for about 4 years. And I’ve only been to Robinsons Fuente Osmeña. Is the new Robinsons Galleria mall near the old one? Will definitely consider Summit Galleria Cebu on our next Sugbo visit.?
Oh no. This is quite far from the Robinsons Fuente Osmena. This is a new area of development in Cebu so there are still lots of open spaces. Oh, now I remember, it’s across the old White Gold. Remember that?
So awesome and fabulous hotel, perfect for family gatherings and staycations. Everything that a family needs is almost there. Nice and friendly staff, too. I can’t wait to visit Summit Galleria Hotel in Cebu.
