The new Seda Ayala Center Cebu is right smack in the middle of Ayala Center — Cebu’s bustling premiere business district. It’s one of the most luxurious business hotels you can find in the area. Read our Seda Ayala Center Cebu review.
Seda Ayala Center Cebu Location
Seda Ayala Center Cebu is formerly Cebu Marriott, which we have visited about three years ago. But now, it is fully owned and run by the management of Seda Hotels — a hotel chain by the Ayala Group all over the Philippines.
It is located along Cardinal Rosales Avenue at the Cebu Business Park — Cebu’s top notch financial district frequented by high society and business people from all over the world. And Seda Ayala Center Cebu has definitely risen to the challenge of catering to discriminating tastes.
Additionally, the hotel is only about a 45-minute drive from the Cebu-Mactan International Airport.
Our Seda Ayala Center Cebu Review
Since we were able to stay at the Cebu Marriott Hotel before it was taken over by Seda Hotels, we cannot help but compare a lot of things. And we also can’t help but exclaim about the novelty and elegance of the new Seda Ayala Center Cebu.
Lobby Common Area
Before entering the hotel property, your vehicle, bags, and person will be subjected to some security measures. When we stepped into the hotel, we immediately noticed the difference. The wide lobby now looks more expansive — aside from smelling nice, of course.
With the special touch of famed Architect Conrad Onglao, the lobby now appears more spacious than it was before. Though the floor area is the same, he knocked down some paneling that made the lobby felt constricting in the old design.
Combined with the muted colors that Seda Hotels are known for, you get understated elegance that’s pleasing to the senses. It’s modern comfort that speaks of cultural heritage. How one can effectively combine both is just genius.
Moreover, we like the fact that there are so many kinds of chairs in the lobby. There are many guests coming in and out for check in, check out, as well as meetings, and events, we are thankful that there are seats where the kids can wait while we finished our transactions.
This hotel had a total makeover. Even the carpeting, paints, and decor are the same flavor with all Seda Hotels.
Our Club Room
We were billeted in the Club Room that had twin double beds for two nights.
At 33 sq. meters in floor area, it’s pretty spacious for our family for four, but with 2 young kids. We had enough space to go around plus we had a divan near the window.
The toilet and bath is spacious, too, with ample toiletries, including hair conditioner.
If ever, the only limited space would be the closet. We had an open space to hang out clothes. There were several lines but not a lot of shelves and no drawers.
Hotel Staff | Service
Now, apart from the elegance of the hotel, it is the warmth and the personalized service that the staff extended that touched our hearts. This made our stay very pleasant and memorable.
Our Siobe Shane (little sister Shane) was sick during our trip to Cebu. She had cough and colds and a fever would break out at night. But we had to go because not only because her ailments are manageable, but she also had a role for her aunt’s wedding. She was one of the flower girls and she also doesn’t want to miss it!
Pampering the Sick Kid
But there were times that she really felt bad and wasn’t her usual bubbly and energetic self. Whether we were at the Misto Restaurant or at the lobby, the staff would take notice of her and give her special attention.
There was one time that a waiter packed her breakfast and delivered it to our room because she just slept while we ate. He even included lots of fruits to make her feel better faster, though I only asked for boiled egg and bread.
The following day, Shane was better but was still coughing and almost threw up while having breakfast. That would have been a disaster. Miss Jacqui immediately came to the rescue with lots of napkins. She also offered to make a warm glass of calamansi juice for Shane. We were so touched.
Since she was in better spirits, Shane enjoyed the Club Lounge and the staff there. They spent a lot of time discussing about songs and movies and they humored her antics. What a truly family-oriented hotel where each guest, young and old, is given preferential treatment.
Seddy Love
Upon checking out, the front office staff asked for Shane. It was then that they presented her with a replica of the Seddy bear that she can bring home. Awwww… not only the little girl was happy, we were so touched by this gesture.
Seddy is the cute and special bear that’s the frontliner of all Seda Hotels. When you visit a Seda property around the Philippines, you will never miss this big cute bear that wears different costumes throughout the year. Read more about Seddy the bear, click here: Who is Seddy?
Whenever we go to a Seda Hotel, the kids always have a picture with the bear in different costumes. And did you know that Seddy can either be male or female? At Seda Atria in Iloilo and Seda Capitol Central in Bacolod, Seddy is a boy.
But in Seda Ayala Center Cebu, she’s a girl! Check out her gown for Christmas 2019 below.

Club Lounge
Only those billeted on the 11th and 12th floor have access to the Club Lounge on the 12th floor. Guests can have breakfast here or cocktails before dinner for privacy and exclusivity.
They serve a wide array of snacks, cookies, cocktails, cheeses, and many more. Plus, they serve wine and other mixed drinks and juices.
The Club Lounge also has a nice view of the Ayala Center Cebu. Check my photo below.
We were not able to have our breakfast here because the girls preferred the buffet at Misto.
Wifi
Since this is an Ayala property, Seda Ayala Center Cebu naturally has Globe Telecom for their internet connectivity. And boy was it buzzing! If not for the events and the places in Cebu that we are supposed to visit, I would just stay in the room and work on my laptop!
Food
When I stayed here before, I honestly did not enjoy the food. But with the new management, we enjoyed the food at Seda Ayala Center Cebu. Misto is bustling every morning!
Even the cocktails and cookies were really good. Too bad we were not able to dine there for their ala carte meals, as our relatives in Cebu whisked us around.
But from what we had sampled, we were happy and satisfied.
Breakfast Buffet
The breakfast buffet as Misto has some of the most extensive selections to start the day right. When we have breakfast at the hotel, we normally don’t have lunch anymore because we get up late. And the food is ample.
Special mention to their service again. They had a noodle soup counter where you can mix and match ingredients and then ask them to blanch them and serve in a soup.
I requested for a Thai noodle dish and they did not disappoint. It was actually good, even though it was not part of their regular fare. Kudos to the kitchen staff!
Room Rates

Swimming Fun
Shane was sick but whenever we had time to go to the pool, her fever lets up and she would insist on hanging by the pool. They just love the water!
Sigh this kid. She is so full of energy that it kind of feels weird when she’s sick and staying still.
Hubby wants to emphasize that even the pool attendant is very helpful. He was all out in helping hubby, like moving to another table, moving chairs, etc. Good looking guy, too. The little Shane wanted to have a picture with him — alone! hahahaha She didn’t want Achi Shawna to join. Kalowka! Marunong na mag appreciate ng guapo! hahahaha
Conclusion
We totally enjoyed our stay at Seda Ayala Center Cebu. It’s not just the premier accommodation and amenities–it’s their embodiment of warm Filipino hospitality. Truly world-class.
Our family was accorded a two-night complimentary stay but this Seda Ayala Center Cebu review and opinion are all ours. I am just sorry that I was not able to take photos of the rest of the staff who helped us during this stay. 🙂
Traveling Family
We are happy to build happy family memories through travel. We really save up for travel because that is part of our homeschooling practice.
We believe that the world is our kids’ classroom. Traveling opens their minds and exposes them to different people, culture, languages, and practices. This is true, even if we are just doing regional traveling around the country. We think that they learn more when we are off somewhere than when staying in the classroom.

Seda Ayala Center Cebu hotel has been known here in not only because it was Marriott before but they went above and beyond. hi lovinglymama, john here. I live in Cebu. Reading your heartfelt review of your stay at Seda Ayala Center Cebu truly touched my heart. It’s incredibly heartwarming to hear about the exceptional care and attention provided to your family, especially during the challenging times when Shane was unwell. The dedication of the staff, their personalized gestures, and the genuine warmth they extended to your family exemplify the essence of hospitality.
The way you describe the ambiance, the meticulous detailing of the lobby, the delightful encounters with Seddy bear, and the thoughtful actions of the staff — it all paints a vivid picture of a place where hospitality transcends the ordinary. Your words about the breakfast buffet, the pool attendant, and the Club Lounge not only make me crave the delightful food but also make me yearn for the kind of exceptional service your family experienced.
