Seda Atria Iloilo business hotel is once again abuzz with guest activity as pandemic alert levels are lowered and travel restrictions are eased. Hubby and were invited to the 1st Bantala UPV Media Excellence Awards at the UP Visayas campus in Iloilo City so we needed to travel to Iloilo. We were confident to bring our kids with us for a safe stay at Seda Atria. Check out what Seda Atria Iloilo has been up to in the new normal travel situation.
Family Stay at the Seda Atria Iloilo
It has been exactly two years since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out and the quarantine protocols were set in place. Our last trip to Iloilo City was on March 14, 2020.
Last week, we went back with our kids in tow in order to attend the awarding ceremonies at the UP Visayas Iloilo campus. Seda Atria Iloilo is very near the university, so we chose to stay there.
Plus, we know that the business hotel has set up safety protocols in place in order to give the best feelings in the world to their guests. Yes, the best and the safest feelings, as you feel confident in their cleanliness and sanitation.
Moreover, their staff is 100% vaccinated against COVID-19, giving us the assurance that they do not take their guests’ safety for granted.
Superior King and Deluxe Room
During our last visit to Iloilo, our entire family stayed at the Premiere Room. Siobe Shane co-slept with us while Achi Shawna had an extra bed.
After 2 years, the kids are much bigger this time. Hubby and I stayed in the Superior King room, which was impeccably clean and smelled really good. We appreciated the fruits and chocolates as welcome gifts as well as a pack of anti-bacterial wipes along with a couple of good quality, surgical face masks. These are new normal travel essentials.
Meanwhile, our kids are already big so they had to be billeted in the adjoining Deluxe Room. We could check on them in the middle of the night because there is a door connecting the rooms.
We all totally had a good night’s sleep that the next day, our family picture would show that we were really refreshed.
Breakfast Buffet
Misto on the ground floor is not yet open for ala carte meals. It only serves a breakfast buffet every morning, until 10am. The guests are welcomed with a temperature check and a spray of alcohol. Everyone is required to wear a face mask and disposable plastic gloves while getting food from the buffet tables.
We totally missed breakfast buffets in hotels and we are so happy that we could do this again as a family. The kids were just so happy to be able to pick out the food that they like. For Shane, ordering from the omelet station already made her day!
Straight Up Roofdeck Bar
Lunch, dinner, and cocktails are all served at the Straight Up Roofdeck Bar on the 7th floor. Their food is surprisingly affordable and really good.
We had our late lunch there and we stayed for the coffee indulgence bar that happens from 2pm to 5pm. Unlimited coffee and pastries are served at this time.
Travel Requirements For Bacolod Travelers to Iloilo
Valid IDs and vaccination cards are required when purchasing ferry tickets at the BREDCO Port. For minors without IDs, Ocean Jet requires a birth certificate.
Seda Atria Iloilo Inspires Guest Confidence
In the aftermath of COVID 19, guests prioritize their health and safety over all else when selecting
a hotel. After over a year of staying at home and being anxious about their health, they are still regaining their confidence as they venture out for leisure or business trips.
“Guest safety and wellness have been the priority of Ayala Land Hotels and Resorts Corp. (AHRC) in the
past 16 months, even more so now that people are desiring to travel again,” assures Javier Hernandez, president and CEO.
AHRC is the Ayala Land subsidiary that owns and manages a range of hotel and resort properties catering
to all segments of the market. They own luxury to affordable accommodations that cater to both business and leisure. The company’s biggest brand is its homegrown Seda Hotels, which now operates in 11 strategic locations throughout the country. Since the brand was founded in 2012, it has adhered to the highest levels of hygiene and safety so that both guests and employees alike feel safe, confident, and secure.
When the Pandemic Happened
With the onset of COVID 19, the hotel organized all its health and safety protocols into the comprehensive “Safe at Seda” program based on government protocols and global industry standards. The program is overseen by a Covid-19 Safety Officer in each property to ensure consistent implementation — from prevention to staff training on detection and management of suspect cases.
Moreover, digitalization of processes to provide contactless transactions was among the first of changes implemented by the brand. This paved the way for the use of QR codes — from online check-in to e-commerce. They also expanded Seda’s presence in more digital channels.
“The pandemic has raised public expectations for safer and healthier environments,” according to
Hernandez. Across all its properties, AHRC has strictly complied with national and local guidelines and actively supported government efforts to manage the pandemic as a key step for delivering assurance to guests.
All its establishments from Seda to its El Nido islands and Lio Beach resorts, as well as its internationally-branded hotels, display a Safety Seal from the Department of Tourism. This also means they use the country’s official StaySafe.ph application for more efficient contact tracing.
For Everybody’s Safety
Seda Hotels continues to receive certifications from other bodies, reiterating its commitment to safety.
All its properties accepting leisure stays have qualified for the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travels Stamp, attesting to their adherence to health protocols that meet global standards. Several hotels have also received the Clean and Ready Shield from Diversey, one of the world’s leaders in hygiene, certifying that its cleaning products and practices ensure the protection of guests and employees from COVID 19 and other harmful illnesses.
AHRC’s branded hotels enforce their respective chains’ stringent safety programs. Luxury hotels Fairmont
Makati and Raffles Makati, both managed by Accor, have received the French chain’s ALL Safe certification.
Meanwhile, Holiday Inn & Suites Makati, also part of the AHRC portfolio and a member of the prestigious Inter-Continental Hotels Group (IHG), complies with IHG’s “Clean Promise” program.
“We are confident we have systems in place throughout our properties that greatly minimize risks for all
our guests and workers,” assures Hernandez. He adds that vaccination of its employees is ongoing in its properties around the country, re-affirming the company’s continued commitment to health and safety, not just within its premises but also to the greater community.
