If 2018 was difficult, 2019 became even more challenging. But it’s now December, the end of the year, so Merry Christmas to me! I am congratulating myself for a job well done in surviving this year. Thank you Lord for seeing me through.
Who Are You Waking Up For?
As a mom, do you feel like sometimes your family is the only reason that gives you reason to get up in the morning? I do feel that too. Thankfully for me, it’s not just my kids but also my husband. I have such a loving and supportive husband who is more than enough for me.
Blame it on hormones, but I do have my share of struggles. These are not imaginary ones but real issues that only a very few people close to me know. It’s just not my habit of posting them on social media.
Haters Gonna Hate
On top of personal as well as health issues that I have to deal with, there are professional ones, too. I have my fair share of haters and bashers because of my public persona as a Bacolod blogger. But it seems that I had a surge of haters this year like the surge in the price increase of commodities.

And the funny thing is, I didn’t do anything wrong to them. There’s one hater who is even recruiting others to hate me as well. Ano yan, networking?
Honestly, I have not been really bothered by haters. In fact, I find it rather funny because they are actually spending their time “hating” me. And that also means, they follow my posts. If there is any good in it, for every hater that I have means I have one reader of my blog.

We Can’t Please Everybody
I am well aware that nobody can please everybody. No matter the good that you do, people will still find fault in you. Despite being ill-informed, misinformed, and even uninformed–they still have the guts to lambast you on social media.
And that’s okay, as long as you remain blameless. I have helped most of my haters at one point of their lives, so if push comes to shove, I have something to shove up their…. *bleep*. hahaha
An online friend also shared her thought in a post when she also encountered another hater:
If you want to do something to improve your life and that of other people, just do it. You don’t need permission from anyone else and you certainly aren’t limited by how others perceive you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Blocking People on Social Media
This year, I did my share of blocking many people. In the past, I am well aware of the people who are posting stuff about me like blind items. They are so obvious. But since I am not named, I don’t want to be assuming as to make a retort.
Eventually though, I wonder why I still kept them on my Facebook friends’ list when they don’t even like me? So my simple solution: BLOCK THEM. There is absolutely no point in us associating with each other. If my posts are ruining their day, then I wouldn’t mind staying out of their way.
Plus, I don’t get to see venomous words on my newsfeed. Believe me, we all don’t need the hate.
Life is actually lifer that way. <3

To All the People Who Stood by Me
Family Travels
In another light, one of the things that increased in frequency this year was our number of family travels. As I am writing this, I am again planning for three upcoming out of town trips with our little gang. It seems that I couldn’t even unpack our luggage and I have to pack another for the next trip.
While the trips are tiring, I can say that these were actually diversions. If I am sick and tired of the happenings in Bacolod City, that’s okay, we are not here anyway. Home is good, but sometimes, we just have to get away from it all. And that’s still fine.
We are excited to explore more of the countryside and stay in other family-friendly hotels in the Philippines.
A Christmas Message
Now, why did I write this post? I just wanted to greet all of you, my dear readers, a Merry Christmas.
Since when did it turn into a rant? I am not sure either. But it’s good to get it out sometimes. Hope this didn’t turn you off.
It just shows you that I am also human. I don’t pretend to be somebody I am not. It’s just me — another mom trying to make it through the day while working and homeschooling her two daughters. Our home may be topsy turvy, but my heart is full.
