Christmas is a big celebration for families in the Philippines. It runs for more than 100 days. This year, we are in for a very special treat as Megaworld lights up the Forbes Hill Christmas Tree Village in Bacolod City. It’s the largest Christmas Tree Park in the Philippines ever!

Christmas Tree Park in Bacolod
Megaworld Corporation, the country’s real estate giant, is always on the forefront of innovations. Last time, they put up the Las Vegas-style Bacolod marker at Forbes Hill. It is now an obligatory stop for visitors to the City of Smiles for a photo op. Day or night, this marker looks very nice in photos.

And now, they opened the largest Christmas Tree Park in the Philippines! Instead of putting up just one giant Christmas tree, they opted for hundreds for trees! More is definitely better in this case.

Around 250 Christmas trees of varying sizes were arranged in the middle of the drive going to Forbes Hill, which is adjacent to the Bacolod marker. All the trees are lighted with thousands of different colored lights. Some are blinking while some are static. They all make for a magical effect.

With the cool December breeze blowing, it feels so nice to take a stroll around the park and take photos. It feels you went abroad! This is perhaps the most exciting Christmas tree lighting ceremony our family ever! Nobody can do this at home, but Megaworld did it for all of us.

The span is about 200 meters and it takes about a 3-minute casual walk from the entrance towards the end.

Open to the Public
Good news for everyone! The Forbes Hill Christmas Tree Park is open to the public. People can go there from 5:30pm to 10pm and enjoy this new attraction in Bacolod City.

But please, please do be careful not to tamper with the trees and lights. Guide your children while they are there. It’s for free so let’s also give the chance for others to enjoy it until the end of the year. 🙂 Thank you!
We brought our two kids and they really enjoyed the lighting ceremony and going around the park. But they were careful not to touch the trees.

Christmas Tree Lighting
Needless to say, our children love Christmas. They are super excited when we get invited to Christmas tree lighting ceremonies. Here are some of the other Christmas tree lighting events we have attended. Most of them are in the family-friendly hotels we have stayed in. Just click on the links below:

wow just beautiful, Christmas is so magical and I always dreamed of spending Christmas somewhere warm, you guys are so lucky in Philippines. I dont think you can find Christmas tree park in any other country!
Actually, it’s more like here in our beloved Bacolod City! This Christmas tree park is the first ever in the Philippines, thanks to Megaworld Corporation. 🙂
The place was magical! And you were right about the dark corners too, because our mischievous daughter got lost for about 3-minutes from zigzagging around the trees. 😀 Too bad the kids’ Ipad was totally drained during the ride, wasn’t able to get any photos, esp since it was an unexpected stop-over. Hope that next year they’ll have it again 🙂
Wow! This is so nice. We haven’t found the time to visit the largest Christmas tree park but would surely love to see this. Any idea until when it will be open to the public? Thank you for sharing this.
It’s open lang Tita Cla. The Forbes Hill development by Megaworld is just along side the highway going to the Bacolod-Silay Airport. You will not miss it. 🙂 It’s just beside the Bacolod City marker. But I think it will only be until December 31, to be sure.
