Aside from the Covid-19 pandemic, the Philippines has been hit with one calamity after another this year. So many Filipino families have been affected when they lost loved ones, homes, and livelihood. It seems that there is no breather and then the nation gets another strike. Haier Philippines helps affected Filipino families during these difficult times.
2020: A Tough Year
The year 2020 has been tough for the Philippines. The Covid-19 pandemic still hasn’t left us so we are all operating under new normal protocols to stay safe.
Many Filipino families have been adversely affected as countless calamities ravaged our communities. Just recently, two devastating back-to-back typhoons hit the country. Hundreds of thousands of our kababayans in Luzon were affected.
On November 1, Super Typhoon Rolly, considered the strongest typhoon ever recorded in recent history, struck the southern Philippines. An estimated two million Filipinos have been affected, many of whom lost their homes and livelihood.
Less than two weeks after, Typhoon Ulysses resulted in extreme flooding in the provinces, Metro Manila, and some parts of Luzon. They haven’t recuperated from Rolly and Ulysses ravaged them yet again.
Haier Philippines Helps Out
In the past months, we have witnessed how Filipinos worked together to provide support and aid to affected communities and families.
One of the brands that have been constantly extending emergency relief efforts is Haier Philippines.
Haier is a global home appliance brand that has been exceedingly relevant in the country. They have been actively responding to the existing socio-economic issues in the Philippines by extending help wherever is needed.
Last January, Haier Philippines helps victims of the Mount Taal eruption. Representatives visited the area and provided clothes and food to more than 200 families.
In May, the brand donated two Haier refrigerators to frontline workers who have been working tirelessly to serve the community.
Tulong Tulong, Sabay Sabay Tayong Aahon
Just recently, Haier Philippines partners with its dealers Alsons & Willy & Sons for a worthy initiative. They started “Tulong Tulong, Sabay Sabay Tayong Aahon,” a donation drive that aims to meet the immediate and urgent needs of some Filipino families.
Their targets are:
- Brgy. Minto in Guinobatan, Albay
- Brgy. Niño Jesus, Iriga City
- Camarines Sur
- Tabaco
- Malinao, Albay
During the 3-day relief activity last November 28 to 30, Haier distributed grocery and rice packs, Haier polo shirts, and umbrellas. Over 650 families were affected by Typhoon Ulysses were blessed by this relief operation.
A Cooperative Effort
While 2020 might be a tough year for us, the cooperative efforts of fellow Filipinos and brands still give us hope.
