Has the pandemic and staying at home affected your child’s development? Do you want to understand your child’s behavior better? Is there a need for you to better relate to your child and his or her needs emotional needs? Do you want them to excel in life by giving them the proper training? Would you like to see them perform better in school? If you answered yes to these questions or have more questions about your child, then a CognitiveMAP by BrainFit® might be in order. It is now available in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, through Bright Kids Preschool.
What is the CognitiveMAP by BrainFit®
So what is the CognitiveMAP and why is it important, especially for growing kids and pandemic babies affected by the learning gap? CognitiveMAP is a standardized whole-brain cognitive assessment tool designed by BrainFit®, a specialized, scientific brain fitness company founded in Singapore. This test, or assessment, aims to provide insights into learning abilities, attitudes, motivation, school or work performance, as well as behaviors.
Who is it for?
Cognitive mapping is for kids to seniors. While it’s alright for very young kids to go through this, Teacher Sheryll Ong, Directress of Bright Kids Preschool, recommends that the child should be able to sit down and go through the assessment for two (2) hours. Age is not the primary concern.
As for adults, brain functions start to decline at age 40. There are those who want to seek assessment so that they can improve on or harness certain functions. They can discover their strengths and weakness through cognitive mapping.
How are the Results of CognitiveMAP derived?
The CognitiveMAP Standardized using data from more than 5000 individuals around the world, BrainFit® CognitiveMAP evaluates cognitive skills in the 5 core brain pillars of, namely:
- Visual
- Auditory
- Movement
- Focus
- Emotional processing
These five (5) aspects are a human’s “Biology of Learning” and form the brain foundations for learning, problem-solving and intellectual processing.
The Results
CognitiveMAP results are free from human bias. The objectivity of the results come from the program, which is AI-administered.
That is because the system is computerized and only accessible online from the BrainFit mainframe. The results are based on the child’s performances and answers, while the AI processes. Meanwhile, the programming has been made after years of research and testing by neuroscientists and educators.
Note: The CognitiveMAP can detect learning disabilities and handicaps. But for those with obvious symptoms, it is best to consult a developmental pediatrician first before undergoing the assessment.
How Much is the Cost?
The assessment fee is P2,500 (as of January 2023, introductory price). It requires the student to stay for at most 2 hours.
In Bacolod City, CognitiveMAP assessment by BrainFit is available only through Bright Kids Preschool.
A different schedule will be set for the meeting between the parents and BrainFit Bacolod. The parents will then be given a printed copy of the assessment as well as a sit-down discussion where the results will be explained and recommendations given. The parents will then be given the option to decide whether to let their child undergo the BrainFit program as a once- or twice-a-week, after-school remediation.

Shane Takes CognitiveMAP
Our youngest Shane, who is now 9 years old and an alumna of Bright Kids Preschool Lucasan, took the Cognitive mapping. She finished the assessment in a little over an hour because she had a lot of “talking” breaks in between tests.
Even for a homeschooling, stay-at-home mom like me who is with my kids almost 24/7, there were still certain discoveries about our daughter. Plus, being able to identify her weakness, aided with some recommendations, enabled us to understand Shane and help her some more for holistic development.
Teacher Sheryll said that Shane does not NEED to undergo the BrainFit program but the results gave us suggestions on how to improve her weak points. It will then be up to us to follow up on her progress.
Yes, even though you have your child tested through CognitiveMAP, it doesn’t mean that they have to proceed to the BrainFit program.
The results are very comprehensive that I now want to make a schedule to have Achi Dindin undergo it, too.
