Franches Anne is the first young lady to be crowned Miss Universe Philippines-Negros Occidental in a glitzy pageant last November 24, 2024 held at the SMX Convention Center Bacolod.
More than just a pretty face, her journey to the crown is nothing short of inspiring. At just 15 years old, Cheska (as she is fondly called) started her own resell business, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit early on.
By 18, she worked as a model with local brands in Bacolod City, using her earnings to invest in new ventures. At 19, she took a bold step into the business world by opening a photo studio, though unfortunately, it did not succeed.
Undeterred, Cheska pursued another enterprise that focused on her one passion—beauty. She established a nail extension salon at home and managed it while assisting with her family’s business.
Her academic background also reflects her dedication to growth. She is a Tourism Senior High graduate from STI West Negros University, further proving her love for learning and new experiences.
A Mother’s Love and Determination
The 21-year-old Cheska is not just a beauty queen—she is also a devoted mother to her almost a year-old son, Don Benjamin Perez III, fondly called JJ. Motherhood has been one of her greatest motivators, pushing her to reach greater heights. She has gracefully embraced the challenges of balancing parenthood with her aspirations, proving that women can chase their dreams while raising a family.
Overcoming Health Challenges
Franches Anne’s journey is even more remarkable because of her resilience in the face of a congenital heart condition. She has a heart malformation and cyanotic heart disease, yet she refuses to let her heart disease define or limit her.
Instead, she uses her story to inspire others, showing that strength is not about being without challenges but overcoming them.
Preparing for Miss Universe Philippines 2025
Representing Negros Occidental in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant is a dream come true for Franches Anne. She is currently undergoing rigorous training with her camp, supported by the MUPH-Negros Occidental Organization under Director Kashmere Granada.
Cheska’s preparation includes physical training, personality development, and advocacy-building to ensure she represents her province with pride and excellence.
