The Covid-19 crisis has drastically altered our way of life. But because of the crisis, we have now learned to appreciate every day like we have never before. Moreover, we could not pass up celebrating birthday milestones because of the uncertainty of the future. Many of us seek our prudent quarantine birthday ideas so as not to spend so much and conserve our resources. You may also opt for party rentals for whatever you need for your celebration. Here are the reasons why.
Party Rentals for a Birthday Photo Shoot and Lunch
Our little Shane turned 7 years old last month and we planned on celebrating it with a party where she can invite her friends and former classmates.
It would also have been a gathering of friends and a mini-reunion with her former classmates from Bright Kids Preschool.
She already had her theme as well as entertainment planned out. Additionally, she has already decided that as for the food, it’s going to be potluck. Haha That kid is really funny.
But then Covid-19 happened.
Simple Birthday Lunch
So instead of a party, we decided on a prudent celebration—with her approval, of course. It was strictly a family affair because of the current health situation.
We had a simple lunch where I just ordered most of the food. Since I am a one-woman army, I didn’t want to have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I only cooked spaghetti with mushrooms and white sauce because the little girl asked for it.
Pink Sakura and Unicorn Fusion Theme
Shane also had a pink sakura cake with an acrylic rainbow unicorn cake topper because she still loves unicorns. Remember her 5th and 6th birthdays? Read: Unicorn Girl 6th Birthday Pictorial | Family Birthday Traditions.
Since the predominant color in both themes is pink, the Sakura-unicorn theme fusion worked.
This is a milestone birthday because Shane is already 7 years old, so I arranged for her to have a birthday photoshoot. And I used party rentals for the backdrop and decors.
Why Party Rentals are Beneficial
When Covid-19 happened, I thought about Shane and her upcoming birthday. We have this sort of family birthday traditions for our kids where we try to give the same kind of party to the next child.
I honestly felt bad that we couldn’t give it to her, since she was so looking forward to it. But, life is just like that and we are just thankful that we could celebrate another birthday.
To make it memorable for her, I thought of having party decorations, a birthday cake, and of course, party food. Since Achi Shawna had a pink Japanese kimono with sakura blooms printed on it, we thought of having a Japanese sakura blooms theme birthday.
The kimono was actually a costume for Japan during the UN Day celebration of the Bacolod Homeschoolers Network many years ago, but I just kept it. Now, it has proven useful for our prudent quarantine birthday party.
Anyway, here are the reasons why party rentals are good for us in this pandemic.
Variety of available materials
Since they are in the events industry, these party rentals have an extensive collection of decors and supplies. You just name what theme you want as well as your budget and they can whip up any party décor for you.
Extensive party set up
Not only do they have party décor, they have set designs, too. They have mounted items, centrepieces, backdrops, swags, and even furniture, like throne, divan, or sofa.
Creative design set-up services
If you cannot DIY because you don’t have the time or creativity, you can also hire them to set up your decors. They have the personnel, the tools, and the skills to do that.
You just have to set safety protocols in light of Covid-19, especially if you are holding your party at home. That would mean having to allow people who are not your family to come into your home.
Cost-effective
Better than buying your own, rentals are cost so much less. Suppliers of party rentals have already earned from these setups from previous events, so the cost is already pro-rated.
That way, you have a nice party setup without setting back the family budget too much.
No problem with storage
When I planned to have a photoshoot for Shane, I thought of buying those plastic sakura blooms so that I could use them as accents. Or maybe I could barter for them.
But the problem would have been storage.
Thanks to Tis n Rae party rentals in Bacolod, they saved me the trouble of finding a space to keep two blooming sakura tree.

Business for party suppliers
Party organizers and decorators were among the hardest hit when Covid-19 became a pandemic and reached the Philippines.
Many of them have diversified into other businesses but many more have lost their livelihood.
At this time, many have preserved their materials so they can easily rent them out. And renting party materials from them would give them some business in these trying times.
It’s helping them out in your own little way.
Environment-friendly
Since you are not buying new stuff, there’s little to no waste. Old materials get recycled and re-used and everyone is happy—including Mother Earth.
Moreover, professional party planners have the knowledge to re-invent old materials and make them look new. It saves them on the costs, but for me, it also saves the environment.

This is a great idea, moms. When my baby turned one last May, we also had a family dinner lang and then a DIY photoshoot. I used my phone and the backdrop was created from dried twigs and some vine na uso na karon. Haha. Wasn’t bad.
Nice idea Mommy Sig. Last year din nung nagdebut kapatid ko lahat ng decoration (backdrop, balloons, table setting) kami lang gumawa kasi kasagsagan ng lockdown non. Pati gown nya ni-rent lang namin for only 300 pesos kasi kumare yung nagpapa-rent hehe. Nice experience although walang bisita naenjoy naman ng kapatid ko yung debut nya kasi di namin inexpect na kaya pla naming pagandahin yung bday nya kahit kami-kami lang.
that’s nice! we have to be prudent talaga ngayon. Enjoy naman kahit simple lang e.
