Here are some ideas for your kids’ snacks without hurting your family budget too much.
Hard-Boiled Eggs
We know, there’s nothing particularly exciting about a hard-boiled egg, except for the fact that they are a powerbanks of fuel for a hungry kid. Our little Shane loves this that I always have at least two boiled eggs in my bag while traveling back then!

You can boil up a half-dozen eggs and use them as quick snacks for a week. When you know you’re going to be super busy the next day, prep some hard-boiled eggs that you can have for breakfast in the morning.
These tasty oblong snacks are egg-cellent for developing brains with vitamins, nutrients, and protein.
Ham and Cheese Pinwheels
If you need a quick snack or lunch idea for a fussy eater, try this: kid-approved ham and cheese pinwheels.
They are essentially a roll-up of ham, cheese, cream cheese, and lettuce inside a tortilla that has been cut into bite-sized portions. These are lots of fun for your little one and you’ll be happy they are finally eating their lunch.
Sliced Pears with Ricotta
A tasty pear is a sweet treat on its own, but if you add creamy ricotta on top, you’ll take this snack to the next level. The natural sugar will give your child an energy boost while the protein from the fresh cheese will help keep them full for hours. You can also drizzle some honey on top for extra decadence. Fair warning: this snack can get messy!
Fruit Kabobs
If it’s hard to get your child to eat healthy snacks, make them a bit more fun. For example, you can serve your child chopped strawberries, grapes, and pineapple in a bowl.
Or, you can skewer them on a stick and make fun little kabobs. That would make for the best snack time ever. Food tastes better when it comes on a stick, right? Maybe not for you, but your child would definitely think so!
Boiled Plantain Bananas
Plantain bananas are naturally sweet. When boiled, they are delicious and very healthy snacks that can provide energy as well as nutrients and fiber. They’re very affordable and readily available, too.
