Designed for Small Children
The Bubble Bum inflatable car booster seat was developed for young children ages 4 to 11 years old–between 40 to 100 lbs. It was designed for their comfort and safety while being strapped with the seat belt.
Made with Safety Standards in Mind
The Bubble Bum Inflatable car booster seat abides by the FMVSS213 Federal Regulation. It is an IIHS Award-winning innovation, with patented memory foam technology. This provides the needed stability and structural integrity in a car booster seat.
Moreover, the Bubble Bum contains more FOAM TECHNOLOGY than air. That is the reason why it meets crash testing requirements even with a puncture.
Convenient and Easy to Use
With a webbing harness and toughened nylon seatbelt guides, it is easy to use. Furthermore, it deflates and folds to fit easily in a purse, backpack, or carry-on bag.
If you need it, you can just blow some air into the provision and you are good to go.
Ergonomic Design
Its narrow and slimline design is ideal for the middle seat, seating three passengers across easily.
Cost-Effective
The Bubble Bum Inflatable Car Booster Seat is very affordable at $29.99. If you bring it when traveling, you also save from renting booster seats from car hire companies.

Why a Car Seat and Car Booster Seat are Necessary
Cars and other motor vehicles are not designed for infants and children. It’s for full-grown individuals, hence the space of each seat.
For a child, that seating space has a lot of allowances all around. Add to that their playfulness or lack of attention while the car is moving, this “extra space” can be disastrous.
In most countries, car seats are required by law. In Australia, my brother recalled that they could not take their newborn baby from the hospital if they did not have a car seat.
The same is true in the United Kingdom. That is why Prince William had been famously photographed carrying a car seat with every new baby. This happened every time Duchess Kate was discharged after giving birth.
The Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act
In the Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte has signed into law the requirement for children to be seated in car seats when transported. This was on February 22, 2019, and the law is called Republic Act 11229. It is also known as the Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act.
RA 11229 mandates that children below 150 cm (4’9”), aged 12 and below, will not be allowed to sit in the front passenger seat of a running vehicle. Meanwhile, if the child were to sit in any other area in the car, a child seat should be in place.
The supposed enforcement of the law will happen one year after the implementation of the rules and regulations. However, I am not sure about the updates of this law. Covid-19 broke out around the world and the Philippines imposed the Enhanced Community Quarantine in most cities.
What we do know is that drivers who are found not complying with the law will be fined. These are, as follows:
- First offense – P1,000
- Second offense – P2,000
- Succeeding offense – P5,000 per incident
From the third offense, drivers will receive a one-year suspension of their driver’s license.
For Child Safety
Some may say that the law is not restricting. On the contrary, it actually seeks to maximize the safety of all infants and children. Car seats will prevent traffic-related deaths that may occur because of an accident.
More Information About the Bubble Bum Car Booster Seat

How the Bubble Bum Was Founded
The Bubble Bum Inflatable Car Booster Seat was founded by Grainne Kelly. As a mom of two young children, she invented the BubbleBum out of necessity.
The frequent family trips always found her bringing along bulky and rigid booster seats on planes. Either car seats were not available from car rental companies at their destination or they cost a fortune to rent.

Missing Our Family Trips
Our children are okay with staying safe at home as a precautionary measure against Covid-19. They understand the necessity. And since we are homeschooling, we don’t have problems with their education as well.
However, we do miss traveling. We used to be on the road, on a ship, or the plane at least twice a month. They definitely miss our hotel stays and their endless hours in the pool.
